Jewish Revolt Coins

Jewish Revolt Coins

Coins from the First Jewish Revolt were issued by the Jews after the Zealots captured Jerusalem from the Romans in 66 AD. The Jewish leaders of the Revolt minted their own coins to emphasize their newly obtained independence from Rome. The revolt lasted for five years (66 – 70 AD) during which several coins were minted.
