A Rare 6" combination Ivory Rolling Rule and Sector by ELLIOTT London circa 1845. In 1804 William Elliott opened his first shop in London specializing in drawing instruments. The firm became William Elliott & Sons in 1850, Elliott Bros. in 1853, and Elliott Bros. (London) Ltd. in 1916. Elliott Bros. offered a wide range of mathematical and optical instruments, in addition to drawing instruments. They discontinued the manufacture of surveying instruments around World War I and were taken over by English Electric in 1966.
