Early French Brass Gun Powder Measure

This is a brass adjustable container allowing the rifleman to measure the exact quantity of black powder and shot with which to charge the rifle for a single shot. There are 2 measures and the units start at 35 grams for the powder through to 50 grams and 24 grams for the shot to 36 grams. All inscriptions are in French. On the bottom of the container is a verification mark: An anchor between HN. The handle is made of turned wood. Overall length 12 cm (4.7 inches).
