Brass Pocket Level by E. Preston. A 2.5 inch (6.5 cm) brass rounded level made by E. Preston. This tiny level comes in a turned boxwood case with a fitted top. Edward Preston started his company in 1825 in Birmingham, manufacturing, mainly wooden planes. In 1850 he was joined by his son Edward Jr. The second son, Henry joined soon after. By 1880 The company had been renamed Edward Preston and Sons and was located on Whitehall St. in Birmingham. The company ceased trading in 1932. |
