A Joiners Conical Oilcan by Lucas. The can is marked 'Leak proof Patent' The tip of the brass spout is a small protrusion that needs to be pushed inwards so that oil can come out of the can. The Company of Sir Joseph Lucas Ltd. From Birmingham was started in 1875 with production of ship and bicycle lamps and accessories. In the 1920s they started making batteries. Lucas made Morse keys and produced bicycles and oilers used in WW I. During the Second World War Lucas produced the No.4 Mk.III bayonet with scabbard. |
