Chinese Smoking Bamboo Water Pipe. This smoking narghile implement is termed ‘Bang’ and consists of 4 parts: Body, Bowl, Tube and Mouthpiece. The body is made of a sealed bamboo segment containing water to cleanse soot belched out by burning tobacco and also to absorb the nicotine. The bowl is made of heavy cast chrome plated bronze cylinder with a long brass tube inserted into the water. A mixture of tobacco and opium was placed on top of the bowl; the base of the bowl is inscribed with the maker or owner name. The tube is made to withdraw air from the body part by means of sucking the mouthpiece that is made of a bent bamboo shoot. |
