An Early set of nested cup shaped Troy weights made of Gunmetal. The Troy ounce (toz) was a system historically used for measuring the weight of precious metals and gemstones. This is a large nest of nine gunmetal (an alloy of copper, tin and zinc) weights measuring 4 inches across and stamped 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2 and 1 in roman numerals and troy symbol (the two smaller weights are not stamped). The largest cup is the master cup; it weighs 64 toz, which is the sum of all inner cups. The second largest cup weighs exactly half the master cup (16 toz) and twice the sum of the inner cups, and so forth. This is a very special set that weighs about 4 Kg.
