Early 19th Century French Nested Cup Weights with ‘Fleur-de-Lis’ Marks. The largest lidded cup is the master cup and it weighs 120 gram, which is the sum of the other two cups. The second largest cup weighs exactly half the master cup (60 grams) and twice the inner cup (30 gram). The hinged lid of the master cup is richly decorated with a Seahorse head latch, handle with pillars and hinge with ribbons. The inside of each cup is marked with ‘Fleur-de-Lis’ that was the French mark between 1827 and 1830. |
