A set of Chinese Violin-Type Weights in Lacquered Papier-mache Box. Made of yellow brass with waisted middle and round ends. These are 19th century weights marked ‘Liang’ (Teal) from the last imperial Chinese dynasty, the Qing. The mass unit of the weights is 33 gm for the largest, 29 gm for the middle size and 11 gm for the smallest. Comes in a 19th century box made of black lacquered Papier-mache, with inlaid decoration on the hinged lid and lined with black felt. |
