A Fine Surveying Instrument: Brass Abney Reflecting Level and Clinometer. The clinometer is an optical device for measuring elevation angles above a horizontal line. In an Abney clinometer the object sighted and the level bubble can be seen simultaneously. This is a telescopic hand clinometer, which has a 14.5 cm (6 inches) double drawtube with improved reflector. The scale on the arc is divided to single degrees and reading by vernier to 1 arcminutes. Gradients are adjusted with spirit level and hinged adjustable magnifier for refining the reading. Comes with original fitted leather case. |
