A 19th Century Gilt Chartometer Map-Measure. This is a rare and unusual map-measure instrument patented in England by the Morris Patents Engineering works in Birmingham. It is a dialing instrument with a wheel which when pushed on a map or chart surface will indicate the exact distance between two points as long as the correct scale is placed on the dial. This Chartometer comes with 3 different interchangeable scales for different map specifications. Enclosed in its original box: 3.75' x 2.75'. |
