1884 Ivory Folding Pocket Rule by Stanley. The model of this rare rule is inscribed on the front as 86 ½ and was made in 1884 by Stanley Rule and Level Co., New Britain, Connecticut. This is a 1-inch wide, 2 feet, and four-fold rule, hand made especially to order, from the highest quality of Ivory. The end plates, hinges and joints are made from German silver (a silver-white alloy of copper, zinc, and nickel) and Electrum (pale yellow alloy of gold and silver). The inside edges are beveled and have 8 architect’s scales. |
