Sovereign Rocker Balance Scale By Smith. This simple seesaw brass balance was unusually signed by the maker Smith. It was used to test the gold sovereign coin and it’s half for wear, and to detect counterfeit coins. It was made in England with slot gauges to check the size of the two gold coins.
