Tube spring balance to weigh 20lb. Marked salter and Made in England. Richard Salter established the Salter Company in 1782 in West Bromwich England, making pocket steelyards. By 1825 his nephew George had taken over the company, which became known as George Salter & Co, manufacturers of bayonets, scales and spring balances. |
