Mancur Balance: The C-Spring Scale Type. This type was used in Europe as well as in the Unites States in the 19th century. This scale, made in France, is hand made by forging an elliptical steel spring stripe, two suspension rings, two load hooks and a brass dial plate with graduations in two scales from 10 to 150 Kilo and 0 to 18 Kilo. The steel pointer is hinged to the C-spring. By changing the hooks, a different sensitivity is achieved. Overall length 27 cm. (10½ inch). |
