Apothecary Brass Scales by W A Webb Ltd London on Oak Case. This semi-analytical apothecary scales consists of a 19 cm (7 ½ inch) brass equal arm beam with boxed terminals. The indicator and suspension frame are made of brass with edged steel hinges. Straight brass rods hold a brass pan; and a curved rod holds a glass pan. The whole is mounted on the main upright pole system with adjustable elevating lever. The main pole screws into a brass plate on the lid of the oak case. The beam is marked 'class b' 'to weigh 20 Oz', and on the other side W A Webb Ltd London. A drawer contains 6 apothecary weights ranging from 2 Drachms to 1 scruple. Overall height is 34 cm (13.5 inches). The inside of the drawer has been renewed. |
