I9th Century Brass Counter Scale Balance by W T AVERY Birmingham. This is a very nice English balance with verification marks. The balance stands 56 cm high (22 inches). It consists of a brass scale with two pans suspended from the ends of a beam. One pan (the larger) is used for the goods to be weighted, the other for the weights. Equilibrium of the loads is indicated by an exactly horizontal position of the beam. Including original mahogany base which measures 45.5 x 24 cm (17' x 9.5'). |
