An exceptionally nice English balance made in Birmingham with verification marks that includes: A Georgian standard numbered stamp of a crown over cipher GR 37 (King George V 1911, County of Sheffield) and exchequer mark with the letter A. This is a brass scale with two pans suspended from the ends of a beam. One pan (the larger) is used for the goods to be weighted, the other for the weights. Equilibrium of the loads is indicated by an exactly horizontal position of the beam. Included are three metric weights of 100, 50 and 20 gram. |
