Safety Goggles by Willson in original box. A pair of bakelite and metal safety goggles with dark lenses, maybe for welding. The goggles are in very good shape, sides and lenses. They are signed Willson on each side. The original box is in good condition with only minor tearing to one corner. This model was first patented in 1915. Willson Goggles Inc. was opened for business in 1871 as Thomas A. Willson & Co., they manufactured eyeglasses and safety equipment. The company went on to produce safety goggles and gasmasks for both world wars. The company was purchased by Christian Dalloz in October 1989 and production ceased in 2002. Box dimensions are 13 X 5 X 6 cm (5.1 x 2 x 2 1/3 inches). |
