19th Century Tortoiseshell Open Lorgnette Eyeglasses. When folded, the lenses of this open lorgnette type did not disappear into a case, but remained visible through the handle. The handle and frame were made from real tortoiseshell with round lenses. Provenance: From the Orr collection Inventory No. 973.
