Case of surgical instruments made by W Eyres of New York between 1884-1891. A 12 piece traveling surgeon's leather pocket case. Includes 3 double bladed pocket scalpels, casing made of tortoise shell, amongst which are, a curved sharp pointed scalpel a curved probe a straight sharp scalpel and more. A pair of scissors a pair of dressing forceps, fenestrated arterial forceps, a needle director, tweezers, trocar, and ligatures (sealed in original packets) and thread. The thread is inside an envelope which has the name Charles C Duryee MD printed on it. Dr. Duryee was mayor of the city of Schenectady NY during the years 1898-1900 and 1912-1914.
