White Metal Lancet by Plucknett & Co. London. Late 19th century bloodletting implement with double-edged blade pivoted between German silver handles. The edge of the lancet would be put over a blood vein. Then the top was struck lightly so that the blade punctured the skin and vein, letting blood. The Lancet is marked, Plucknett & Co. London. |
