A 19th Century Monaural Stethoscope. The stethoscope for hearing an infant within the womb, has a chest piece with rounded edges at one end, and a straight earpiece at the other. This 17 cm (6 ½ inch) long stethoscope is made of turned elm wood with hollow tapered shaft and with 3.5 cm (1.4 inch) ear piece and 4.5 cm (1.7 inch) earpiece. |
