This a metal reflex hammer with a rubber head for neurological examinatins. Its overall length is 18.5 cm. It is marked Allen & Hanburys. Allen & Hanburys Allen & Hanburys Ltd, was established in London by Silvanus Bevan a Quaker chemist 1715, Silvanus set up his practise at No. 2 Plough Court just off Lombard Street. His younger brother Timothy joined him in 1725 .In 1775, Joseph Gurney Bevan took over the business, Joseph Gurney Bevan was succeeded by Samuel Mildred. At the beginning of 1795 Mildred took Bevan's clerk, William Allen into partnership with him and thus began Allen and Hanburys Ltd |
