The set includes: A Maylight type ophthalmoscope with 12 positive degrees of magnification (up to 20x) and 12 negative degrees of magnification (up to -20x) an otoscope signed 'Gowlland Made in England with 2 smaller specula, Leather covered battery handle with on/off switch marked Gowllands, spare bulb, a nasal speculum, bent arm throat lamp, chromeplated tongue depressor, Laryngeal mirror 22mm marked on its back ' 4 Boilable Made By Gowllands England', Post-Nasal mirror 18mm marked on its back '3 Boilable Made By Gowllands England' Gowllands Ltd was established at the end of 19th century by three Gowlland brothers. In the beginning they concentrated on ophthalmologic instruments. But eventually their interest shifted towards diagnostic instruments for ear, eye, nose and throat. The faux leather box is in perfect condition. It is marked 'WB Hilliard & sons 123 Douglas Street Glasgow c 2' 'Made in England'. The fully functional clasp is marked Gowllands. |
