Kodak No.2 Hawkette Folding Camera. This Kodak brownie is made of Bakelite with a spring mechanism to unfold the camera and extend the bellows. This is the first Kodak plastic-bodied camera. This Hawkette was constructed from bakelite moldings fabricated by E. K. Cole Ltd. The camera has a rotary lens and uses 120-film size. Overall length is 17 cm (6.7 inches). A leather case is included. (Eric Kirkham Cole started his business in Leigh on Sea England in 1924, repairing radio sets and charging batteries etc. They started pressing Bakelite in 1931) |
