Prutot (lot of 3 coins) of Procurator Marcus Ambibulus. He was a Roman Procurators under Emperor Augustus during the years 9-12 CE. Obverse side: Ear of barley curved to right and an inscription 'KAICA POC' (of Caesar). Reverse side: Eight-branched palm tree bearing two bunches of dates, date mark LM (Year 40 to the reign of Augustus which is year 10 CE). A pleasing example. Reference: Hendin 637 |
