A hollow full Malacca cane containing a copper measuring ruler. This ruler was used to measure the height of horses. The measurements can be taken in meters, feet or hands. The cane is 78 cm (30.5 in) tall, the handle is pear shaped sterling silver. The heel is a copper thimble with engravings. This is a British cane, probably from the beginning of the 20th century. |
