Map of The Holy Land , Palestine During the Roman Rule 1886. The map depicts the boundries of the 5 Roman Devisions Judea Samaria, Perea, the Decapolis, and Galilea. The map extends north to include Pheonicia and today's Lebanon and Syria. Biblical Jewish settlements, and Roman towns and villages as well as mountains rivers and wadies, are emphasized. In the right lower corner is a list of the Twelve Tribes. The numbers coinciding with numbers on the map proper, showing the location of that tribe's land-allotment in biblical times. The map was drawn by Fisk& Co. Engr's NY and published by Phillips & Hunt in The People's Atlas 1886. |
