Early 20th century steel and brass trepan in the form of a brace with rotating octagonal brass handle. The trepan was used to cut out circular holes in the skull during brain surgery. The grip handle is also made of brass and shaped like a mushroom to aid in applying downward pressure. Overall length 26 cm
