This is a simple hand held instrument used for static visual perimetry and for screening neurological functions of the retina, optic nerve, and brain. Consists of a wooden handle, an upper lip supporting rod, a horizontal metal arc marked at 5 degrees intervals for a total of 180 degrees, and a hinge that allows the arc to be rotated vertically for 360 degrees. This instrument was used prior to the invention of the Goldman or Humphrey automated computerized examinations.
